Untreated Padparadscha Sapphire Ring, 6.19 Carats

A superb 6.19-carat unheated padparadscha sapphire, the rarest of all of Ceylon's treasured jewels, shines in this beautiful ring. Displaying the iconic orange-pink hue, known as sunrise, for which these gems are so coveted, the sapphire's SSEF report also confirms that it is completely free of treatment, meaning its exceptional clarity and vivid color are all nature-made. Encircled by glittering white diamonds totaling 2.00 carats, the jewels are complemented by their classic platinum setting.

The most valuable of all sapphires, the padparadscha's name is derived from the Sanskrit word for lotus blossom—a bloom that shares the same pastel pinkish-orange color. Sapphires are discovered in the full spectrum of hues, but padparadschas, with their unique color, are the only subset of sapphires known by their own name.
